Biotechnology Questions

1) What kind of technology is being discussed?

Biotechnology - The technology that involves with the human body and how it functions. In this video, they are talking about the use of prosthetic hand.

2) What are the benefits of this technology?

The prosthetic hand can replace a disable/not functional hand, it can be controlled by the muscles above our elbow (like picking up a pen, grabbing glass, etc.), it can also prevent itself from grabbing to firm. This hand is very useful for people without a hand, they can have a mechanical hand which can functions just like their original hand.

3) What are the dangers?

Prosthetic hand can cause a riot in the future, when people might see the more advanced, more futuristic use of technology. People might cut off their own hands to just replace them with this bio-hand, which in the future might have more features and will make more people want to replace their own hands with.

4) Are there any ethical problems with this technology?

There might be a lot more problems than it had planned out to be. Unless people use these biotechnology for their disable limbs on their body, it will be a problem if they cut off original limbs to replace prosthetic limbs. It might mess up with the biology, what if a family that is crazy about biotechnology and decided to raise their child with all their limbs cut off and have them replaced with prosthetic limbs? It might not end up well for the family and the choices their children will make in further future.

Washing Machine Hans - What's good and what's bad?

What I like the most about in Mr. Hans Washing Machine's presentation is that his story at the start of the presentation, he started off with a memory about his grandmother's first time seeing a washing machine, which is very fascinating because I've never seen anyone that excited or happy about a machine that washes your clothes before! However, I don't like the fact that he changes his subject at the end of the presentation, which makes me a little confused, first, the topic started off as a washing machine story and he ended the presentation about reading books? I don't get it!

The Start:
He started out with a story, which is funny and entertaining. When he told the story, it was very well rehearsed since he didn't fidget or acted nervous.

Signposting:
He used a lot of signposting words to help the audience connect the topics together, which also made the presentation flowed smoothly without any information missing.

Structure:
He started off with a great hook, he focused on the main part of his presentation very well, his ending was confusing but it was very good as well.

Delivery:
He delivered his message very well! His voice was clear, loud and his accent made the presentation funnier!

Visual Aids:
He used a lot of visual aids, which included the chart, the props (washing machine, clothes, books, etc.), his hand and body movements. The visual aids he used help him delivering his message and made it easier for the audience to understand the purpose of his message.

The End:
He ended with the books, which I didn't quite understand, but it was humorous nonetheless.
